VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Volunteer for the RBC CUP hockey tournament May 12-20. For valuable work experience hours and shifts outside of school hours, pick up an application form from the WEX board. Want to be the Chiefs mascot for this tournament? Contact kathy_wiseman@sd33.bc.ca.
  • CHILLIWACK SAFETY VILLAGE needs student volunteers throughout the month of May. Shifts are 9 am - 2 pm with a variety of shifts available. Pick up an application form from the WEX board.

SCHOLARSHIPS

  • BC TECH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: $2,500 for students are pursuing a post-secondary education in a technology-related program. Deadline is May 4. See the Scholarship Bulletin Board beside the elevator and @bit.ly/BCTechScholarships2018.
  • LISA HUUS BURSARY worth up to $5,000 for students with significant physical disabilities living in BC and completing post-secondary education in an accredited program. Deadline is May 31.   • CERTIFIED DENTAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM AT UFV. UFV is currently accepting applications for September 2018 start. Students must have a minimum C grade in English 12 and Biology 12. Students will enjoy the job search advantage provided by UFV top-notch training. Many BC employers look favorably on UFV trained candidates when hiring. Students learn in state-of-the-labs, have the opportunity to work in the community and in dental clinics, and enjoy extended clinical hours for maximum preparation over a 10 month program.
