VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • ROTARY BOOK SALE: If you are interested in volunteering October 13 - 21,  please see Mrs. Ellert in D203 before school, during lunch or after school to sign up. Wide range of shifts available.

SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Loran applicants processed after October 8 must select DIRECT POOL. These must be submitted directly to Loran by the direct pool deadline of October 24, 2018 at 8:00 PM EST

  • Pollard and Perrins Scholarship applications must be submitted online by October 30th.

  • TD Scholarship for Community Leadership must be received by TD by November 16th.

  • Please join us for  the FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITIES EVENING at 6:30 on Thursday October 25th! We will be discussing various means of financing a post-secondary education including scholarships, bursaries and student loans. A recruiter from UFV will be on hand to answer any questions

  • Join Brittany Palmer of UNLOCK YOUR FUTURE as she leads students and parents through a step-by-step program for navigating the scholarship process.  Through this seminar, Brittany debunks common scholarship myths and breaks down the complex process into a manageable form. Using this program, Brittany and her younger brother Bo collectively won 35 scholarships totaling over $125,000. Since 2005, she has shared her story and strategies with tens of thousands of students, parents and educators. The Unlock your Future Scholarship Workbook ($25) and Scholarship Kit ($30), which are accompaniments to the program, will be available for purchase.  Monday, November 26th, 2018 at 6:30 pm at SSS.

CAREER INFORMATION       

  • ENGINEERING: Are you a grade 12 girl who is curious about engineering? Want to see what university is like? Come to the University of British Columbia for our grade 12 girls conference in November!.  The conference is an exciting opportunity for grade 12 girls to participate in hands-on workshops, explore the University of British Columbia, meet engineering students and compete in a design competition! Parents are welcomed to a parent information session later in the day. Learn why engineering is an amazing career opportunity for your daughter, and how to encourage her to consider all of her options as she moves forward in her secondary and post-secondary education.

  • Jumpstart Your Education - UFV Bachelor of Arts Jumpstart program. Are you eager to start classes and meet other students before Fall 2019? Then the UFV Bachelor Arts Jumpstart may be for you! This initiative gives you the chance to develop your academic skills and experience at the UFV Abbotsford campus before the Fall 2019 semester. By incorporating academics, university preparation, and social activities, the UFV Bachelor of Arts Jumpstart will help prepare you to be successful.Receive credit for 9 core university requirements (3 courses) in your chosen program next summer. Courses will run July 2 to August 30, 2019 with a full week schedule and one weekend residency experience.

  • Post Secondary Applications open October 1 at most Canadian colleges and universities! Be sure to check the admission process for the programs you are interested in and apply right away for programs that are first come/first served!
